To Our Prospective Members:      (please read before accessing application)

Our requirements for joining Westernaires are:

    • That the prospective rider must live in Jefferson County or their family must own property in Jefferson County.
    • The age limits for joining Westernaires are nine (9) through fourteen (14) years of age.
    • Riders may remain a member until they graduate from high school.
    • The annual dues are $25.00, payable at our first meeting, August 2010.

We meet year round.  We use both indoor and outdoor arenas for riding classes.  The riding classes last one hour and the rental fee for a livery horse is $10.00.  There is no rental fee if the rider provides his or her own horse.  We also have classroom time on the care, feeding, grooming and history (among other subjects) of the horse.

"What is Westernaires?", you may ask.  Westernaires is a youth organization that encourages self-respect, responsibility and leadership through horsemanship and family participation.

We teach western riding using drill formations in groups and at speed.  The first year we concentrate on safety and equitation so that good riding techniques become automatic.  Our top team, the "Varsity Big Red", is considered by many to be the best drill team at speed in the world today.  Each year you remain in Westernaires you will be promoted to another level determined by your riding and classroom scores. To reach the top, a rider will be promoted through a series of levels requiring increasing skills, first in our White Division which is our training division and then through the teams in our performing division which is the Red Division.  You get there the same way whether you own your own horse or rent one -- it depends only on you and your abilities.
Please return the application as soon as possible to Mrs. Glen Keller, 8895 West Jefferson Ave., Denver, CO 80235 and please plan on attending our Orientation meeting in August 2010, at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. This meeting is for both prospective members and their parents. We will notify you later of the exact time.
