WESTERNAIRE PARTIES AND BANQUETSA. General Advancement Sequence
1. Tenderfeet - first year in Westernaires. After written, oral and equitation testing, advancement will be to "Sophomores", a temporary status until the present "Juniors" are advanced.B. Guidelines for Advancement2. Juniors - second year Westernaires. Are assigned to lower White Division teams and also riding classes for continued equitation instruction. After written, oral and equitation testing, Juniors will be advanced to "Senior" status. Juniors may enroll in specialty teams.
3. Seniors - beginning in the third year, members are considered "Seniors".
4. Advancement within the White Division - certain guidelines are used. (see guidelines below).
5. Red Division - riders enter Red Division by need of team numbers. These riders will be selected based upon the guidelines listed below. From this point on stringent testing and evaluation determines placement when a need for team members arises. Only the Instructor of the Varsity Big Red can select a rider for Red Ranger or Flag training, drop a rider from training or advance them to the Varsity.
The Promotions committee may give consideration to one or more of the following criteria in determining rider advancement in base teams. Decisions of the Promotions committee are final.1. Attendance
2. Attitude and deportment
3. Dependability
4. Classroom grades
5. Equitation test
6. Team grade
7. Ticket sales from Annual Show
8. Instructor/monitor comments and suggestions
9. Parent participation WILL NOT be considered by the Promotions Committee in determining rider advancement.
A. Eligibility
1. Graduate of Westernaires in good standing.2. No outstanding fees or charges.
3. Graduate of Westernaires must be an active rider at the time of graduation from high school.
B. Responsibility
1. Adhere to and support the Westernaire rules and regulations.2. At Westernaire activities, setting a good example is expected.
3. In the community, as an alumnus, setting a good example is also expected.
C. Requirements for participating at shows and/or other Westernaire events
1. Alumni must register for the event with the designated representative and sign the necessary releases prior to participation in the event.2. Must complete arrangements for horse, tack and/or equipment as needed.
3. Personal attire, tack and equipment must be neat, clean and preferably western. No blue jeans, T-shirts or bare midriffs will be allowed.
4. Must conform to the Westernaire rules covering safety.
D. Requirements for alumni selected to perform at shows and/or other Westernaire events
1. Must have a horse or talent that other riders do not exhibit.2. Must be requested to perform by the Director.
3. Must furnish all necessary costumes and equipment unless otherwise specified.
4. Must sign releases and furnish medical information as required by the Westernaires.
E. Requirements for alumni selected as instructors
1 . Must complete the Senior Instructor course and be recommended for assignment by the course instructor or Chief Instructor.2. Based on special needs within Westernaires, an alumnus may be immediately assigned as an instructor by the Director.
3. Must comply with all rules and regulations governing instructors.
1. Attendance is a leading safety criteria in meeting the requirements to ride in performing teams.2. This attendance policy applies to all scheduled functions.
3. Attendance records start at the first meeting of the base team, class or specialty and continue through Annual Show of the following year.
4. Attendance is not accumulated from year to year.
5. A rider's attendance record will play a major part in advancement.
6. Perfect attendance awards will be given at the end of the year.
7. Conflicts:
a. A conflict will not count as an absence if all the conflicting functions involved are scheduled Westernaire functions.b. Conflicts are allowed where one class takes precedence over another.
c. A general rule of thumb when conflicts do arise:
i. Red Division over White Division or Blue Divisionii. White Division over Blue Division
iii. Base team over Specialty
iv. Riding specialty over ground specialty (in the same division).
v. Teams practicing for imminent shows take precedence over all others
vi. Performances and parades always take precedence over any practice.
8. Tardies:
a. When tardy, it is up to the instructor's discretion if the rider participates in the class.b. Classes begin five (5) minutes after the hour and end five (5) minutes before the hour.
9. Riders must have the maturity to contact their monitors or callers if scheduled calls have not been received by the latter part of the week. NO CALL IS NOT A REASON FOR AN ABSENCE.
10. Special Call-Outs:
a. Occasionally special call-outs are necessary for selected teams or classes which are outside performance practices or team meetings. This includes clean up, servers, tour guides, models, etc.b. A special call-out will be governed by regular attendance rules.
c. This rule does not apply to non-compulsory team attendance activities.
11. Official attendance records can only be corrected or amended by a given team's monitor.
12. After a rider has a total of five (5) absences of any kind in any team, class or specialty, the monitor shall notify the Chief Monitor who shall issue a letter to the rider and his/her parents. The rider must set up a meeting with the Chief Instructor of the respective division and the team, class or specialty monitor and instructor. The rider will not be permitted to ride in that team, class or specialty until the meeting has been arranged. If the rider does not respond within two (2) weeks the rider will be dropped from that team, class or specialty. If the team in question is a base team, the rider will be dropped from Westernaires.
13. If a rider attends a function "on the rail" and is out of uniform or checks in and leaves without permission of the instructor, an absence will be assessed.
14. Leaves of Absence:
a. A written request for a leave of absence must be submitted to the Director. The request must provide justification and length of time desired.b. The Director, after consideration of the request, will give approval or denial to the team monitor, the attendance monitor and the rider.
c. If a leave of absence is granted, riders will:
i. not advance the year following the leave of absenceii. forfeit all seniority and officerships
iii. not be eligible for year end attendance awards
d. Leaves do not apply to specialty teams. When a leave is granted, all specialties must be dropped. To rejoin a specialty, a rider must start again in the lowest division of that specialty.

A. Ownership and Responsibility
1. All Westernaire owned costumes and tack will be stored by the Westernaires and must be turned in promptly after each show. Any loss or careless damage must be paid for by the rider. No changes in costuming may be made without the approval of the Director.B. Performing Specialty Costumes
1. Certain performing specialties require additional tack and costumes of a personal nature. These are to be obtained at rider expense over and above Westernaire costume fees. They remain the property and responsibility of the individual.C. Loan of Costumes
1. No props, costumes or equipment may be utilized on or off the grounds without management approval.2. No costume may be copied for private use.
D. Use of costumes
1. Riders will not wear team or specialty costumes in the audience area at shows or parades. When permitted to observe shows or parades as a spectator, riders must do so in practice or dress uniforms.There are three basic fees and rentals charged each year which are required to be paid when due. These fees are not refundable.
1. Annual fee due January 1st of each year (except for Tenderfeet who pay this fee the preceding September for a 15 month period.)2. Costume and equipment rental
3. Livery horse rental
1 . Graduation from Westernaires is required after a rider's graduation from high school.2. Only Red Team riders may choose to ride through the National Western Stock Show following their high school graduation. All other riders must graduate from Westernaires no later than the Annual Show following their high school graduation.
3. Varsity graduation ceremonies are held only at Trinidad and National Western.
4. Any rider leaving Westernaires before high school graduation will not be considered to be an alumnus.
1. All Westernaires, volunteers and parents are responsible for the condition of the facilities that we use.2. Fort Westernaire and the adjacent Jefferson County Fairgrounds should be free of all litter that results from horse loading and unloading activity as well as general use of the facilities.
3. Repairs, additions or changes to facilities must be authorized by the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds.
A. Special Medications
1. Riders and/or parents are responsible for advising the instructor and/or monitor of any special medication needed. Riders must provide their own medication and medical supplies, including aspirin, tylenol, allergy tablets, ace bandages, etc.B. Medical forms
1. Riders must complete and return a current medical form each year to the team or specialty monitor before participating with that team or specialty.C. Medical Treatment and services
1. The First Aid room is for first aid treatment only.2. Family or individual health insurance is considered to be primary for medical needs and bills. Payment for ambulance service, doctors and medical treatment is the responsibility of the parent.
3. If parents do not expect to be in attendance while their rider is involved, they are to inform Westernaire supervision, in writing, as to how they can be reached in an emergency.
4. Any change in medical insurance information must be reported to all monitors immediately.
D. First Aid Staff
1. Members of the Westernaire First Aid staff are all certified first aiders. They do not diagnose illness or injuries but may, on occasion, recommend that the rider be taken to a medical facility for further examination. It is the responsibility of the parent to make the final decision.2. First Aid personnel are trained to handle any emergency and will be the only personnel allowed to enter the arena when the need arises.
A. Entrance Requirements
1. Applicant may enter between the ages of 9 and 14 years of age.2. Applicant must live in Jefferson County, Colorado, or the family must own property there.
3. Applicant must be physically able to ride.
4. Applicant must be enrolled in an accredited school.
B. Team membership requirements
1. All riders must be active and in good standing in a base team. A rider cannot elect to participate only in a specialty.2. Riders must be enrolled in an accredited school. Any rider who drops out of school must also leave Westernaires.
3. Riders married, pregnant or living in a marriage type situation must leave Westernaires.
1. Officer selection shall be the consensus decision of all instructors and monitors of a given team.2. Valid selection data, including leadership, grades on written work and attitude, must accompany records when officer selections are presented to the Chief Instructor and the Director for approval.
3. Riders must sell 20 tickets to the previous Annual Show to be eligible for an officership in a team or specialty.
4. Officerships will be approved in writing. Copies of the approval will be given to the Westernaires Club Store before any officerships are announced or any insignia purchased.
5. Officers will not be appointed in Blue Specialties, Tenderfeet or Junior classes.
6. The rank of Major is reserved to a graduating Red Team rider. Captain is the highest rank that can be held in any of the other teams or specialties.
7. Officership in one team does not carry to another.
8. Officer insignia will be worn as follows:
a. Varsity Big Red riders are allowed to display any insignia from past or present teams or specialties on their Red Team sweaters. Placement of bars is covered in that team's handbook.b. All other teams - base team "bars" are to be worn on the collar of the Westernaire uniform shirt. Specialty insignia are to be worn on the upper left front of the shirt. Riders need not change the bars around when going from class to class on the same day.
c. Removal of officers and insignia for disciplinary reasons must be approved by the Chief Instructor and the Director.
1. In order to guarantee parade safety, all horses and riders in a parade must be approved by the instructor.2. When preparing for parades, horses are not permitted on sidewalks or lawns. All horse droppings and hay must be cleaned up before leaving. Riders must check out with monitors.
3. All horses shall be properly trimmed or shod.
4. All horses must be cleaned and properly groomed.
5. Outriders must be approved by the Posse Major and are subject to the same rules as riders.
6. Check in at the tack truck on foot.
7. Riders must stay with their team.
8. Talking or gum chewing will not be allowed during parades.
9. If an owner cannot ride in a parade for any reason, he/she must "ride the rail" for that parade. He/she must be in uniform and wear boots, stay with the monitor and help when and where directed.
Parents play a vital role in the Westernaires. Attend your child's classes and become more a part of your child's life. Your contribution of time and talent is what makes Westernaires strong. Above all, keep in mind that Westernaires was formed as a riding club for young riders and that parents act only in supporting roles.
1. Do not tell the instructor how to run his/her class or program.2. Do not communicate with your child during any class and do not enter the arena unless requested to do so.
3. Parents cannot call meetings of other parents without the consent of Westernaires management.
4. Complaints will be taken through regular channels for resolution. (See Chain of Command).
5. All visitors are governed by our rules of personal conduct when on Westernaire grounds or at Westernaire functions.
6. Riding releases for adults must be signed before taking active part in adult classes.
7. Parents will dress in a respectable manner consonant with Westernaire tradition and values.
A. General
1. Parking in the Fort compound area is on an assigned basis only.2. Parking on the blacktop by the Quarter Midget track is not permitted.
3. Prior authorization must be obtained from the Director before driving to and/or parking at the Fort's Upper Open Arena.
4. Parking on the road or shoulder of the road leading to the Fort is not permitted.
5. Horse trailer parking on the Fairgrounds' paved areas is subject to approval by the County. When Westernaires are allowed to use these areas, riders are responsible for clean up prior to leaving the parking area.
6. The speed limit on the grounds is 20 MPH
7. Careless use of motor vehicles is subject to reprimand. Failure to comply will result in a report to the Sheriff's Department.
8. Riders and pedestrians must be alert to vehicle traffic around Fort Westernaire and in the fairgrounds area.
9. Trailer parking south of the ball field and east of the Rodeo arena is not permitted.
B. Parking at Fort Facilities
1. Trailer parking will be in the back row on the east and west sides of the road leading to the Fort.2. Car parking will be on the front rows on the east and west sides of the road leading to the Fort.
C. Parking at the Lower Arena and the General Purpose Building
1. Both trailer and car parking will be to the east of the Lower Arena.D. Parking at the Rodeo Arena
1 . At shows trailers will be parked in rows west of the arena. The first two rows will be for Red Team. Cavalry, Precisionettes, Crimson Rangers, Royal Rangers and Indians will park directly behind Red Team. The remaining rows will be used by White Division.2. Cars will park as directed by Westernaire Posse.
A rider who becomes professional by performing for pay, competing for prize money or performing under private contract is not allowed to perform such an act for Westernaires.Westernaire riders, adult volunteers and parents are responsible and accountable for personal conduct while participating in any Westernaire sponsored activity. The highest standards of conduct will be expected at all times at Fort Westernaire, the Jefferson County Fairgrounds facilities, shows, parades and special events.
1. Alcohol, drugs or prohibited substances are not permitted at any Westernaire function. Use of tobacco by riders is prohibited. Any violation will be immediately reported through the chain-of-command. Such conduct will result in disciplinary action as determined by the Director.2. Foul or abusive language will not be tolerated. Members of the organization are expected to refrain from using any foul or abusive language while attending any Westernaire function.
3. Boys' hair must be cut or worn pinned up so that it does not touch the collar at ANY and ALL Westernaire functions whether in or out of uniform. Instructors will have authority to require a hairnet if necessary.
4. Boy friends or girl friends are not allowed in classrooms, arenas or paddocks.
5. Riders must respect the authority of the Posse, Monitors, Instructors and other adult volunteers. Disrespect will be promptly reported to your instructor. Disciplinary action will be taken.
6. Hazing and rough behavior will not be permitted.
1. Publicity:
a. News releases, pictures and interviews concerning the Westernaires must be cleared through the Director.2. Other releases:
a. All costume, picture and riding releases must be signed by a parent or legal guardian and turned into the Westernaires before a member is permitted to ride the first Tenderfoot ride.b. When a horse is hauled by Westernaires a horse hauling release must be signed and in the possession of the Westernaire drivers.
c. All adults participating in Adult Riding, Wrangler class, Harness team or any other Westernaire activity, must sign the proper release at or before the first class.
1. Renters report to livery headquarters (designated by the Chief Wrangler) at least 15 minutes before class.2. Renters are not to take a horse from a previous team at any other arena unless authorized by the wrangler.
3. Rentals must be cancelled by 6:00 pm on the Friday night before a ride or by 5:00 pm weekdays when summer schedule is in effect.
4. A horse reservation must be cancelled through the Horse Monitor.
5. Red Division has livery priority use as follows: Red Team, Cavalry, Precisionettes, Royal Rangers, Crimson Rangers, Indians. In the lower divisions a first come, first served system will be used to assign livery horses.
6. When assigned to the first riding class of the day, riders must report one hour ahead of class to groom and saddle.
7. Riders in the last class of the day are required to remain and unsaddle livery horses.
8. Owners may not rent unless extra horses are available. Owners are required to call the Horse Monitor by 6:00 pm on the Friday before the ride or by 5:00 pm during summer schedule to reserve a horse.
9. Renter Priority is as follows: Reserved renters, reserved owners and unreserved owners last. Unreserved owners must check with the wrangler before taking any horse.
10. Livery horses are to be released and returned to their home station on time. If a team must hold an informal meeting following class, the livery horses must be excused. If renters fail to release horses to the following class, they will be expected to make up any refunds given for shortened riding time to the next class.
11. Livery horses are not permitted off the grounds for anything other than Westernaire functions.
12. Livery horses used by the Varsity or other Red Division teams will not be assigned to any other team in the hour following a Red Division ride. They may be assigned to a Tenderfoot or Junior class only for that hour.
13. Any rider arriving late to pick up a rental horse when class is already in session must use a livery horse on the rail.
14. If a rider is listed as a renter on Westernaire records, a horse will automatically be reserved that rider every time he/she are scheduled to ride. Renters must cancel this horse or be charged a rental fee.
15. Boots are required to catch and groom horses for riding and at grooming classes. No tennis shoes or soft shoes are permitted.
16. Renters have no authority to determine treatment, shoeing or how a livery horse may be used.
17. Livery horses are not available for sale to the membership.
18. When livery horses are hauled by Westernaires to shows or parades, renters must groom their assigned horses, apply leg wraps and be present for loading and unloading. They are also responsible for that horse's tack and the care of the horse during the trip.
19. If a rider is listed as a "renter" on the Westernaire records and an owner horse is used three (3) times, the renter status will be changed to "Owner".
The use of safety helmets is permitted in every practice of the Westernaires. If the helmet is to be used in a performance, it is the responsibility of the rider to incorporate the helmet into the costume in use by his or her team so as to be unobtrusive. THE USE OF HELMETS IS A MATTER OF PERSONAL DISCRETION AND RESPONSIBILITY OF THE RIDER AND THE PARENTS.SAFETY RULES FOR RIDERS AND ADULTS
1. There will be NO riding double outside the arena.2.Horses must be bridled at all times when ridden outside classes, around the fairgrounds or at parades and shows.
3. Riders using the General Purpose building will be allowed in this building only during scheduled class hours. Use only the big doors and dismount before entry or exit from the building.
4. Classes in session must not be interrupted.
5. Horses may not be tied to the rail and left in any arena.
6. Horses are not allowed within 30 feet of any food concession.
7. Pets must be left at home.
8. Exercising horses on the fairgrounds outside an arena is allowed ONLY in the area east of the trailer parking at the lower arena, and on the grassy area east of the road leading to the Upper Open Arena. Horses must be kept at a walk anywhere else.
9. Horses are not permitted on the pavement area between the Auditorium and the Livestock Building.
10. Horses are not allowed past the stockade fence leading into the Fort compound.
11. Any horse that consistently kicks or bites during a class poses a danger to riders and other horses and will be asked to leave the arena by the instructor.
12. Horses will not be tied to unhitched trailers.
13. Leave mares with foals at home.
14. Small children must be closely supervised by adults.
15. Tie-downs are not permitted.
16. Back cinches are not permitted unless approved by the Chief Instructor of your Division. Exception: Trick riders and Riders of the Steppes may use back cinches IN THAT CLASS ONLY!
17. Riders must dismount to check in outside the arena.
18. Horses and riders must yield the right of way to pedestrians.
19. Only designated personnel are allowed in the arena and the paddock area.
20. No large or dangling earrings or other dangling jewelry is permitted.
21. Sunglasses are permitted in the arena with permission of the instructor.
22. Gum chewing is not permitted while riding.
1. Weekly schedules are arranged by the Coordinator and approved by the Director for the benefit of the largest number of teams possible.2. Facilities are not to be used unless scheduled.
1. Any rider in a White or Red Division base team may join any of the Westernaire specialty teams provided that:
a. With the exception of Indian Dancers and Clowns, those wishing to join specialties must be graduates of Tenderfeet.b. Members wishing to join any Horse related specialty must be declared an "owner" in their base team unless the specialty has been designated as available to renters.
c. Riders may join ground specialties without regard to their owner status.
2. With the exception of Indian Dancers and Clowns, riders must join specialties in a Blue specialty. Promotions will be based on need and ability and not necessarily on seniority and will only occur in March and September.
3. Riders must sign up for specialties no later than November 30th of any given year.
4. Riders in specialty teams must understand that they may be required to supply part or all of their costume and equipment.
5. All Red Division specialty riders must be a in a Red Division base team but riders advancing to Red or White Division base teams are not automatically advanced to that division in specialties.
6. A rider may no longer perform with a White Division specialty if he/she has performed that same specialty in a Red Division show. Exception: On some out-of-town shows it may be necessary to use White Division specialty riders to fill out a team. This does not mean the rider is automatically advanced to the Red Division specialty nor excluded from the White Division shows in that specialty.
7. Riders advanced to a higher level specialty and then found unable to complete the requirements of that level, for whatever reason, may be sent back to the previous level.
1. Arab Patrol - boys and girls who are Tenderfoot owners. The team performs in White Division shows and parades.2. Bedouins - Girls in at least their junior year who are owners. Must provide own costume.
3. Clowns - boys and girls who are Tenderfeet or older; provide own costume and make-up. Clowns perform at White division shows and parades.
4. Flag Riders (Red Team boys) - boys in good standing in Cavalry; must be selected for and pass Flag training class.
Red Team - girls in good standing in Precisionettes; must be selected for and pass Red Ranger training class.
5. Individual talent - Audition for show committee and be approved by the Director.
6. Indians - must successfully complete Westernaire firearms safety training in order to carry a firearm or be promoted to Cavalry.
7. Junior Wrangler - Must be twelve years (12) or older and pass the Wrangling class.
8. Junior Instructor - must be twelve (12) years old or older and pass the Junior Instructor class.
9. Chariots - must be twelve years of age or older and graduated from Juniors.
10. Pony Roman -Riders joining must be a past member of Hoedowners, a renter and member of a White Division team. Graduation occurs on entering a Red Division team or on becoming an owner.
11. Hoedowners - boys and girls who have completed their Tenderfoot year. Must be a renter. Composed of youngest and smallest riders who are selected by the Promotions Committee.
12. Junior Grand Entry - Made up of riders from the Junior classes selected on a tryout basis.
13. White Division Grand Entry - Made up of owners from the AAA teams selected on a tryout basis.
14. In addition to being owners, Horse Roman applicants must consider that, by design, this specialty calls for two horses that work well together. Members with one horse may still join Horse Roman; however, prior arrangements must be made for a second horse.
1. Riders must sell a minimum of 20 tickets to ride in the Annual Show.2. If a rider does not sell any tickets there will be a conference with the rider, his/her parents, instructor, monitor and the Director.
3. All team riders must sell 20 tickets to the current Annual Show to be considered for an officership the following year.
4. Ticket sales are taken into consideration for team advancements.
5. Tenderfeet must sell 20 tickets to the current Annual Show to be eligible for a place in the Top Ten Tenderfeet named at Tenderfoot graduation the following September.
1. Practice uniforms are required for all Westernaire functions unless otherwise specified.2. Riders are not to change out of practice uniform between classes if they are remaining on the grounds.
3. Practice uniforms for all riders will consist of:
a. White or wheat jeans (such as those sold in the club store)b. Pant legs must be wide enough to fit over the top of the boots and worn down. (Do not tuck in or roll them tight.)
c. Lightweight cotton pants may not be worn in place of jeans.
4. Westernaire blouse or shirt
a. ALL riders will wear the practice blouse/shirt. Only boys may wear the official Westernaire T-shirt in place of the practice shirt. Exception - Westernaire T-shirts may be worn by riders for Trick, Vaulting, Circus Horse and Horse Roman (only in the arena) providing the shirts are full length and riders wear a Westernaire blouse/shirt over them to and from classes.b. ALL shirts must be tucked in at ALL times.
5. Turtleneck sweaters or shirts may be worn UNDER practice shirts during cold weather and must be red or white.
6. Headgear
a. Scarves must be worn by girls designating the color of their division:
Red for Red Division
Blue for White Division and Juniors
Tan for Tenderfeet
Green for wranglersb. Scarves are waived for trick, vaulting and circus horse activities (in the arena only).
c. Scarves are to be worn on the head and tied so the hair is not in the eyes of the rider and clipped so as to not come off when riding.
d. If western hats are worn by either boys or girls, they must be the Westernaire white hat.
e. Appropriate hats or earmuffs may be worn in inclement weather.
f. Westernaire visors are acceptable headgear for girls.
g. Only boys may wear baseball caps. Said caps must be the official Westernaire cap.
7. Only western boots or shoes with a hard, smooth sole and a substantial heel may be worn for riding. Western boots must be worn when loading and unloading horses from vans. Exception-certain specialties are permitted an exception to the boot rule only while riding at their practices and shows.
8. Complete practice uniforms for Tenderfeet will be required by January 1st
9. Top jackets and coats must be red for Red Division riders and is advisable for White Division. They should be close fitted for safety. Logos and advertisements on jackets, shirts, caps or hats are not allowed.
10. Varsity sweaters are to be worn by Red Team riders and specifically authorized adults only.
11. All uniform addition or alterations must be approved by the Director.
12. Placement of Bars and Patches on practice shirts:
a. Ticket sales patches are sewn on the LEFT sleeve with the year bar under it.b. All other authorized patches go on the right sleeve.
c. Parade bars are worn - on the left front of the practice shirt. The bar and stars are given only to parade participants who must be in the parade route to receive them.
d. Team officer bars are worn on the collar. Specialty officer bars are worn on the upper left front of the practice shirt.
13. Uniform requirements at shows and parades:
a. Proper uniforms will be worn before and after all shows and parades:
i. Red Division
Girls will wear dress blouse and red pants.
Boys will wear black jeans and Westernaire white polo shirt.
Flag riders will wear red pants and Westernaire white polo shirt.ii. White Division
All riders will wear wheat jeans and Westernaire, shirts/blouses.b. All riders must wear either a Westernaire T-shirt or a white V-necked T-shirt under all costumes.
USE OF FACILITIES AND/OR GROUNDS
A. General
1. Review weekly schedules which is posted on the Fort compound bulletin board. Use only facilities scheduled.2. The use of Fort facilities by non-members is not allowed.
3. Personal telephone usage is restricted to the "public" telephones.
4. Respect the privacy of the caretaker.
5. Use of the Fort as a play area is not permitted. This includes younger children and friends.
6. Horses are not permitted in the Fort compound area.
7. Horses are not permitted on the hill above the Rodeo arena during shows.
8. No horses are permitted on the pavement area between the Fairgrounds Auditorium and the Livestock Building.
9. Scheduled events must conclude by 9 P.M.
B. Responsibility
1. Riders and parents must exhibit exemplary conduct at any facility and/or grounds assigned whether Westernaire owned or owned by others.2. Obey all instructions by persons in authority.
3. Abide by the rules of any facility and/or grounds specified for our use. This includes but is not limited to the following:
i. Control of vehicle trafficii. Parking
iii. General conduct
iv. Visitors
v. Horse handling
4. Riders and adults must clean up all rooms, facilities and grounds before leaving after a scheduled event. No smoking, food or beverages are allowed in classrooms by either riders or adults.
5. Do not clean out trailers at the Fort or at the Fairgrounds. Waste on the grounds should be treated as it would be at parades - put the waste back into the trailer and dispose of it off the grounds.
6. Vacate the premises by the end of the scheduled events for the day.
WESTERNAIRE PARTIES AND BANQUETS
Westernaire sponsored extra activities will not be defined as Westernaires official activities unless:
1. They are scheduled through the Division Chief Monitors and approved by the Director.2. All team members are invited, including the instructor and monitor.
3. All Westernaire rules of conduct must apply.
4. The Director and his wife are invited.
